The Process

Step One:

Register and attend all four discover workshops: Discover Jesus, Discover Community, Discover Purpose, and Discover Membership.

Please note: The first three workshops are held on Sundays after service, Discover Membership is a Sunday night dinner with childcare provided.

Step Two:

During the Membership Dinner, you’ll meet with a leader to affirm your faith in Christ and discuss your connection and involvement in the life of our church. If you’ve missed a workshop or are not yet serving or involved in a group (community, recovery, or discipleship), your membership will remain pending until these steps are completed.

Step Three:

Once elders and interviewer signatures are complete, you’re officially a member of our church family! We’re excited to walk alongside you in faith, service, and community.

Step Four:

As a member, you’ll participate in an annual check-in and our quarterly Family Meetings. These gatherings are open to all members and include important updates on church life, finances, and opportunities to vote on key decisions. They’re also a time for prayer, celebration, and staying rooted in our mission together.

  • I was a part of launch team, do I still need to complete membership?

Yes! Launch team and dream team were a special part of our church planting journey. If you are interested in becoming a member you will need to go through the full process.

  • What is the mission of the church?

We believe that through His saving work, Christ redeemed the church—His bride (Eph. 5:25–32)—and established a new covenant (Heb. 8:6–13; 1 Cor. 11:25), reconciling people to God and to one another (Eph. 2:11–22; Gal. 3:28). Through faith in Him, believers are indwelled and baptized by the Holy Spirit (1 Cor. 6:19; 12:13), becoming members of the body of Christ, founded at Pentecost (Acts 2:1–4) and built on the apostles and prophets (Eph. 2:19–20).

As the head of the church (Eph. 5:23), Christ calls His people to love one another (Jn. 15:12) and to remember His covenant love through communion (Lk. 22:19–20; 1 Cor. 11:24–26) until He returns. He also commands us to make disciples of all nations (Mt. 28:18–20), growing together as God’s people (1 Pet. 2:9; Eph. 4:15) through teaching, fellowship, service, the Lord’s Supper, and prayer (Acts 2:42–47), using the gifts of the Spirit to build one another up in Christ (1 Cor. 12).

  • How long are the workshops and what time?

The workshops take place in person at 12:30 p.m. after service on Sunday and will last about 1.5 hours. Location is subject to change depending on the number of people registered. Please register and leaders will let you know the week of about which room or email us at 📧 info@iconchurch.net!

  • Can I bring my kids to discover workshops?

Yes! We will have childcare provided during the workshops.

  • What are the commitments the church is making to its members?

At Icon, we believe that church membership is a two-way covenant: the leaders commit to shepherd the flock of God faithfully, and the members commit to walk in love, generosity, and service to Christ’s body. As Jonathan Leeman puts it, “Church membership is not just about what you get, but about what you give. It’s a mutual agreement of responsibility and care between the church and the Christian” (Church Membership, p. 66).
